Chambers USA 2019 Ranks Flaster Greenberg Attorneys Among the Best in Pennsylvania and New Jersey

Interviews with clients and peers reflected well on Flaster Greenberg PC, in the 2019 Chambers & Partners USA Directory, and earned group rankings for both the Bankruptcy and Intellectual Property Departments in Pennsylvania, as well as for four attorneys individually both within and outside those groups and located in both Pennsylvania and New Jersey. Individually, Jordan A. LaVine was recognized in the field of intellectual property; William J. Burnett and Harry J. William J. Burnett, a shareholder in the firm, is Immediate-Past Chair of the firm’s Bankruptcy, Financial Restructuring and Risk Management Department and concentrates his practice in bankruptcy, reorganizations and workouts. A source noted that Bill “is very good; very business-oriented and he knows how to work deals and move things forward.” He represents clients in all areas of Chapter 7 and Chapter 11 bankruptcy proceedings, creditor’s rights and corporate liquidations. In addition, he counsels debtors on the advantages and disadvantages of Chapter 11 and the rights and remedies of creditors and unsecured creditors' committees in the Chapter 11 process. His representations include financially distressed companies, creditors' committees, trustees, plan administrators, secured and unsecured creditors, Chapter 7 trustees, Chapter 11 debtors-in-possession, landlords, equipment lessors, asset purchasers, and preference plaintiffs and defendants. This is the fifth consecutive year Burnett has been recognized as a "Leader in the Field" in Pennsylvania for Bankruptcy/Restructuring. 

Harry J. Giacometti is a shareholder in the firm’s Bankruptcy, Financial Restructuring and Risk Management Department and was described as “capable, smart and pragmatic: all the things you look for in a good counselor.” His practice is focused on bankruptcy, debtor and creditors’ rights, commercial law and litigation. Through his representation of corporate, individual and institutional clients, Giacometti’s wide range of experience includes: commercial bankruptcy representation of debtors, creditors and trustees in both chapter 11 and 7; commercial litigation in both the state and federal courts of Pennsylvania and New Jersey; and commercial transactions, including formations, liquidations, asset sales and purchase transactions. This is the fifth consecutive year Giacometti has been recognized as a "Leader in the Field" in Pennsylvania for Bankruptcy/Restructuring. 

Marty M. Judge, who is Chair of the firm’s combined Environmental Law and Real Estate and Land Use Departments, was honored for the third consecutive year as one of only several individual attorneys in Band 1 in New Jersey for Environmental Law.  According to the rankings, Marty provides clients with valuable environment-related compliance advice, drawing on what one source describes as his "very broad knowledge of regulatory structures." He is also engaged to represent clients in contentious proceedings. He has an impressive track record of dealing with matters such as waste management, air pollution and the development of brownfield sites. Judge is a former Deputy Attorney General for the State of New Jersey where he once represented the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection.  He is a shareholder in the firm’s Environmental Practice Group and focuses his practice on all facets of environmental litigation, and regulatory compliance and counseling. This is the eighth consecutive year Judge has been recognized as a “Leader in the Field” in New Jersey for Environmental Law.
