Chief Information Officer
Flaster Greenberg is seeking a Chief Information Officer (CIO) to lead the firm’s technology efforts and its IT team. This person can work in either our Cherry Hill or Philadelphia office locations with the ability to travel between offices, as needed. This senior management level, hands-on management role is responsible for strategic IT planning, IT security, implementation and support firm-wide. The Chief Information Officer oversees the IT staff which provides the firm with technical assistance in the areas of network operations, end-user support, telecommunications, training and practice support. The key responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:
- Working with consultants and vendors to ensure the highest levels of systems performance and data security.
- Act as primary contact for contracts in support of all network systems.
- Ensuring IT related contracts and services are meeting or exceeding SLAs.
- IT related project Management, as assigned
- IT Infrastructure Management, as needed
- Staff building and development
- Work with senior management to develop annual technology budgets.
- Advise senior management on industry developments, research and recommend new software and hardware applications. Troubleshoot network related and desktop related problems either directly or through delegation.
- Troubleshoot Internet and external e-mail either directly or through delegation.
- Maintain telephones, voice mail and basic programming of the telephone server either directly or through delegation.
- Supervise the maintenance of printers, copiers (e-copy), fax machines.
- Interact with all end users on IT-related issues and demonstrate good interpersonal skills.
- Purchase equipment as required either directly or through delegation.
- Develop and maintain training programs for all levels of personnel.
- Arrange for technical support for satellite offices.
The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 5+ years’ technology management and leadership experience, preferably within a law firm or professional services environment. College degree in related field, MIS, preferred. Strong leadership and communication skills (both written and verbal); thorough knowledge of firm software applications and programs; such as, Windows Server, Advanced Server; Windows Active Directory, DNS, DHCP; Microsoft Exchange Server, Citrix, Rainmaker (or similar time & billing software), and iManage. Knowledge of virtual desktop and private cloud computing environments; firewalls, network switches, and network security solutions such as CrowdStrike and Pondurance; and cloud based document management systems.

IT Training and Support Specialist
Flaster Greenberg is seeking a Training/Support Specialist to join its IT team and work in primarily our Conshohocken office location, and also in our Philadelphia office location. This position rotates responsibilities between Technology Training and Support. This individual is responsible for firm training including new hire training as well as other firm training requirements as assigned. This individual is also tasked with addressing first and second level support issues. The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:
- Development of courses and other related training material. Train new and existing employees (attorneys and staff) on firm installed software, either in structured classes or one-on-one training as a part of on-going skill development and rollout of new software.
- Provide 1st and 2nd tier support to end-users for software, hardware, applications, computer and device issues as well as handle a variety of general IT tasks. Be the primary technical owner of this support and work with internal resources and external vendors in this capacity, as needed.
- Maintains thorough knowledge of the Firm’s technologies and applications. Maintains current knowledge of trends and developments related to training methods and techniques.
The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 3 years related experience, preferably in a law firm environment. Strong training development and delivery skills; thorough knowledge of firm software applications and programs; such as, Windows 10, Microsoft Office 2016, Citrix, Rainmaker, and iManage. Ability to troubleshoot first and second tier hardware and software problems. Excellent presentation skills; exceptional communication skills; and strong customer service skills.

IP Legal Assistant
Flaster Greenberg is seeking an experienced IP Legal Assistant for its growing IP patent practice group located in the Philadelphia Office. This position requires patent prosecution and docketing experience; e-filing experience, and ability to work in a fast-paced environment. Familiarity with foreign patent prosecution and/or patent litigation is desired. The Legal Assistant will normally be responsible for the following functions which include but are not limited to:
· Draft correspondence, memos, letters, etc. for respective IP attorneys and/or paralegals.
· Manage attorneys' and client dockets.
· Interface directly with clients, including reporting filing of documents on behalf of clients.
· Prepare and file US patent applications, office action responses, and other documents with USPTO (United States Patent and Trademark Office).
· Perform time entry, process check requests, expense reports, and reimbursements, make travel arrangements, coordinate meetings, and maintain attorney calendars.
· Review, docket, and route mail and correspondences accordingly in docketing management software (Foundation IP).
· Perform special tasks as needed which may include learning new functions on the computer or IP specific applications.
The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 2 - 3 years related experience and working knowledge of basic patent filing practices before the USPTO. Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (Outlook and Word), Document Management systems, Computerized Timekeeping, and Adobe Acrobat. Other skills required are: strong attention to detail; ability to efficiently manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in timely manner; excellent communication and interpersonal skills which may include strong computer experience and experience with docketing system (familiarity with Foundation IP is a plus).
