Daniel L. Sulvetta is an attorney in the firm’s Litigation Department and Transportation Law Practice Group. He concentrates his practice on transportation law and assisting with matters in state and federal courts across the country and providing commercial litigation and consulting services to Class 1 and short line railroads, motor carriers, third party logistics companies, and more.
His experience includes working on matters involving catastrophic incident/large loss recovery and subrogation, casualty and work injury claims, cargo claims (Carmack, COGSA, contract), maritime property damage claims to infrastructure/bridges, business litigation, supply chain litigation, bankruptcy, environmental claims, coverage disputes, freight charge disputes, freight intermediary issues, and transportation and warehouse contracting. Dan also assisted in successfully defending two of the nation’s largest motor carriers against a nationwide antitrust lawsuit involving more than $100 million in damages.
Dan has corporate law experience in the areas of banking, securities, personal injury, foreclosures, employment, and construction and zoning, including drafting transactional documents such as loans, partnership agreements, corporate governance, merger and acquisition agreements, trusts and estates, and pre-nuptial agreements.
Dan graduated from Villanova University Charles Widger School of Law. At Villanova he served as vice-president of the Moot Court Board where he refined his litigation and advocacy skills in Moot Court competitions across the country. He also served as a summer law clerk for the Honorable R. Barclay Surrick in the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania.
Dan received his bachelor’s degree from Pennsylvania State University, Schreyer Honors College in political science with minors in Chinese Language, History & Asian Studies.
Prior to law school, Dan taught United States History at his alma mater Saint Joseph’s Preparatory School in Philadelphia as a member of the Alumni Service Corps.
