Flaster Greenberg PC is proud to announce that Harry J. Giacometti, chair of the firm’s Bankruptcy, Financial Restructuring and Risk Management Department, has been appointed to serve as a Chapter 7 Panel Trustee for the U.S. Bankruptcy Court in the Eastern District of Pennsylvania.
In this role, Giacometti will serve as the court‑appointed fiduciary, along with four other trustees, responsible for reviewing debtors’ filings, overseeing the meeting of creditors, identifying and liquidating non‑exempt assets, investigating the financial affairs of the estate when necessary, and distributing proceeds to creditors in accordance with the Bankruptcy Code. Chapter 7 Trustees ensure the process is handled fairly, efficiently and transparently. Giacometti’s appointment reflects both his deep experience in insolvency matters and his longstanding reputation for integrity, diligence, and sound judgment.
Giacometti brings decades of experience representing debtors, creditors, committees, and fiduciaries in complex bankruptcy and restructuring matters. His practice spans industries including real estate, manufacturing, healthcare, and financial services, positioning him well to navigate the wide range of cases that come before the Chapter 7 panel.
“I’m honored to be appointed as a Chapter 7 Trustee and to have the opportunity to serve the Eastern District of Pennsylvania in this capacity,” said Giacometti. “My responsibility is to safeguard and maximize the value of the estate, investigate and administer property when necessary, and distribute assets in a way that upholds the integrity of the system. It’s meaningful work, and I’m grateful for the trust placed in me.”
Giacometti will continue his bankruptcy and commercial litigation practice at Flaster Greenberg while serving on the Chapter 7 panel.
