Course Description
The cost of being rich and famous is giving up your privacy because the details of your personal life are news headlines. The area of a famous person’s life that is most closely followed by the public is their romantic life. When it is good, bad and ugly. As divorce pleadings, transcripts and other legal documents are becoming more easily accessible to the public, details that most people want to stay private are made public and are openly discussed and critiqued. When a famous person is accused of intimate partner violence, the public naturally judges and chooses a side. Are victims in Intimate Partner Violence that involve celebrities less likely to be believed because of their offender’s status? This course focuses on how domestic violence hearings that are televised impact other DV cases and the view on DV in general.
