Jianwu Gong

Jianwu Gong is a member of Flaster Greenberg’s Intellectual Property Department and Patent Practice Group.

Prior to joining the firm, Mr. Gong was a legal intern at Penn State Law’s Intellectual Property Clinic where he conducted client intake meets to determine their requests, researched their technology related to patent and trademark law, and analyzed factual and legal information to find solutions for their patent and trademark needs. Jianwu also filed provisional and non-provisional applications for clients with the USPTO and responded to USPTO’s actions for non-provisional filings.

Mr. Gong has also worked as a chemist where he led a project on improving labels and Safety Data Sheets (SDSs) of products sold in China and produced SDSs that comply with specifications of chemical laws via the Globally Harmonized System.

He spent three years as a teaching assistant at Iowa State University where he taught undergraduates general chemistry, physical chemistry, and chemical thermodynamics. Prior to this, Jianwu worked as a research assistant at Ames National Laboratory in Ames, Iowa, and at Dalian Institute of Chemical Physics (Chinese Academy of Science) in Dalian, Liaoning, China.

Mr. Gong is fluent in multiple languages including Chinese, his native language, English, and Japanese.
