Jianwu Gong

Jianwu Gong is a member of Flaster Greenberg’s Intellectual Property Department and Patent Practice Group and  has an advanced degree in chemistry.  Based on his strong technical background, Jianwu services clients in the chemical and material science arts. Jianwu has two years of patent prosecution experience that includes the following technical areas: material sciences, polymers, and pharmaceuticals.   Because of this strong technical abilities, Jianwu has also prosecuted patent applications that involve wireless communications including cellular communications (3G, 4G, and 5G).  

Because of Jianwu’s versatility, he is adept at assisting clients with patent issues in the chemical arts as well as crossover technology that involves chemical or material science technology as well as other technologies.

With a strong and broad chemistry research background in material sciences, laser, biochemistry, quantum mechanics, and computational chemistry, Jianwu’s experience includes filing provisional and non-provisional applications for clients with the USPTO and responding to USPTO’s actions for non-provisional filings for multiple companies in material sciences and polymer industry. He has also worked as a chemist where he led a project on improving labels and Safety Data Sheets (SDSs) of products sold in China and produced SDSs that comply with specifications of chemical laws via the Globally Harmonized System.

Jianwu is fluent in multiple languages including Chinese, his native language, English, and Japanese.
