Peter Chacanias, counsel in Flaster Greenberg’s Real Estate & Land Use Group, was recently featured in NJBIZ’s continued coverage of its Construction & Development panel discussion, where industry leaders examined the growing infrastructure and energy challenges shaping development across New Jersey.
During the discussion, Chacanias highlighted the complexities developers face when balancing infrastructure demands, environmental concerns, and the state’s evolving energy needs. He emphasized that even existing infrastructure may not be equipped to support modern, energy-intensive projects, noting, “One of the biggest hurdles that I think we keep running into, and it’s these conflicting goals within the state of New Jersey, which is we need housing, we need infrastructure, we need energy, and we need to protect the environment.”
Chacanias also discussed emerging trends in renewable energy development, infrastructure modernization, and the increasing importance of energy production as part of New Jersey’s long-term economic growth strategy.
