Flaster Greenberg announced today that John G. Koch has been appointed General Counsel to the firm, effective January 1, 2026. Koch is a shareholder and longtime leader within the firm, where he is a member of the Insurance Coverage Practice Group and Lead of the Environmental & Energy Practice Group. John also spearheads the firm’s Attorney Development Program.
As General Counsel, Koch will advise firm leadership on risk management, professional responsibility, and strategic initiatives, while supporting Flaster Greenberg’s commitment to excellence, collaboration, and attorney development.
“John’s breadth of experience, sound judgment, and deep understanding of both our firm and our clients’ businesses make him exceptionally well suited for this role,” said Jordan LaVine, Co-Managing Shareholder. “He brings a thoughtful, practical approach to complex issues and has long been a trusted advisor within the firm.”
Koch has built a distinguished practice representing insurance policyholders and business clients in high-stakes insurance recovery, environmental, construction, and commercial disputes. He regularly helps clients recover substantial sums from insurers and other responsible parties when facing losses or potential liabilities.
“I am honored to step into the General Counsel role,” said Koch. “Flaster Greenberg has a strong culture of collaboration and integrity, and I look forward to supporting the firm and my colleagues as we continue to serve our clients at the highest level.”
