Ryan T. Kovacevich

Ryan T. Kovacevich is a member of the firm’s Intellectual Property Department and Patent Practice Group.

Prior to joining the firm, Ryan was a law clerk at a boutique intellectual property firm in Philadelphia where he drafted patent applications, office action responses, appeal briefs, and more. He also worked directly with inventors and collaborated with senior attorneys to develop prosecution strategies, prepare drawings, assist with inter pares review (IPR), and offer input on litigation planning and strategy.

A former practicing electrical engineer, prior to entering law school Ryan worked at an automotive part and component manufacturer where he reverse-engineered and designed software and hardware of automotive electronic parts, including vehicle door modules, intelligent battery sensors, and smart window lift motors currently being sold in the automotive aftermarket. He also served as lead electrical engineer on various product teams and engaged in engineering practices such as circuit/PCB design for large scale manufacturing, embedded software design, failure mode analysis, and corrective action plans.

Ryan earned his J.D. from Villanova University Charles Widger School of Law and a Bachelor of Science degree in electrical engineering from Lehigh University Rossin College of Engineering & Applied Science.
