Claudia K. Meijides focuses her practice on complex civil litigation, with an emphasis on insurance counseling and recovery. She represents corporate and individual policyholders throughout Florida in high-stakes insurance coverage disputes, handling matters involving commercial property losses, business interruption claims, professional liability issues, construction-related claims, and other complex coverage matters.
She has extensive experience representing insurers in personal injury protection (PIP) matters arising from automobile accidents. She has handled hundreds of litigated matters and served as lead trial counsel in more than 500 lawsuits, with experience spanning every stage of litigation — motion practice, discovery, depositions, mediations, and trial. She has advised clients on insurance-related legal and regulatory issues, including policy compliance, statutory requirements, evidentiary matters, declaratory judgments, civil remedies, medical coding, and legal risk management. Regularly researching and analyzing complex insurance issues, Claudia prepares substantive motions and legal memoranda and argues those motions before the court. Her litigation experience includes representing clients in matters involving claimants, insureds, treating physicians, medical experts, coding experts, and corporate representatives.
Her unique experience working for Fortune 500 insurance companies gives her an insider's perspective that she brings to bear for her clients, helping businesses secure the insurance coverage they need when facing complex, high-stakes litigation.
Beyond her litigation practice, Claudia brings significant experience in legal operations and litigation management. She has led teams of attorneys and paralegals, provided mentorship and performance guidance, developed training programs, and partnered with executive leadership to improve legal processes and align litigation operations with business objectives. She has also advised business leaders and employees on contract interpretation, regulatory compliance, business operations, and legal risk.
Claudia earned her J.D., cum laude, from the University of Miami School of Law, where she served on the Race and Social Justice Law Review and received the CALI Excellence for the Future Award in the Innocence Clinic.
