Jane Fearn-Zimmer, a shareholder in Flaster Greenberg’s Elder and Disability Law, Trusts and Estates, and Taxation practice groups, has been tapped by the New Jersey Institute of Continuing Legal Education (NJICLE) to participate as a panelist for two seminars in the elder law track of this year’s Summer CLEfest.
Jane will be speaking with other elder law professionals in both the AM and PM sessions. The AM session, entitled “Understanding Elder and Disability Trusts,” discusses the intricacies of Medicaid and Veteran’s Benefits trusts used by elder and disability law practitioners, and provides guidance about how to draft and administer them. The PM session, entitled “Planning for the Future Now: Advanced Issues in Elder and Special Needs Law,” will address some of the more complex issues that legal professionals confront every day when advising special needs and elder clients, including Medicaid crisis planning with Medicaid-compliant annuities, trusts, long term care planning, ABLE accounts, insurance, and more.
Zimmer is well known in the community as an established elder and disability law attorney with over 13 years of experience dealing with complex legal matters. A frequent author and lecturer, Jane speaks and write on a variety of tax, special needs planning, Medicaid planning, guardianship and estate planning topics to a broad range of groups. She also serves as the Editor of The Elder Law Report, Including Special Needs Planning, a national newsletter, through which she updates attorneys regarding new developments in elder law and special needs planning.
The event, geared towards attorneys that are seeking continuing legal education credits and that wish to learn more about their respective practice areas, will be held on August 10th, 2018 at the Sheraton Atlantic City Convention Center in Atlantic City, NJ and has been approved for PA/NJ CLE credits.
