Mitchell R. Cohen, Flaster Greenberg shareholder and chair of the Alternative and Renewable Energy Practice at the firm, has been named counsel to the New Jersey Renewable Energy Coalition. The Coalition’s mission is to advance initiatives that foster and encourage renewable energy, to assure steady industry growth for the foreseeable future.
Mr. Cohen represents clients engaged in business ventures in emerging green energy fields such as solar, wind, geothermal, cogeneration, biofuels and biomass. His clients include solar and other alternative energy developers, EPC contractors, energy consultants and alternative energy funding sources.
In addition, he represents corporate clients in all aspects of business-related matters and transactions, including mergers and acquisitions, plant and product expansion, succession planning and divestitures. Mr. Cohen has particular experience in corporate financing, including senior debt, mezzanine and equity funding, as well as workout and restructuring financing. Mr. Cohen has represented international oil and refining companies, transportation companies, high-tech and biotech companies, medical service providers, equity funds and national lenders.
