Bernard “Buz” Eizen, shareholder at Flaster/Greenberg PC, has been recognized as a leader in taxation and estate planning by being selected as an author in the book, Inside the Minds: Family and Business Succession Planning, 2013 ed., published by Aspatore Books, a Thomson Reuters business. This new, authoritative book is scheduled to be released on Thursday, November 1, 2012.

Inside the Minds: Family and Business Succession Planning provides a professional’s perspective on key tips for developing business and tax planning strategies. Featuring experienced partners from law firms across the nation, these experts guide the reader through the process of accessing client objectives, and tools and techniques to overcome challenges in the succession planning process and helping clients achieve their goals. Eizen’s chapter, entitled “Understanding the Succession Planning Goals of Family Business Owners,” explores some of the current considerations and techniques applied in the counseling of family business owners and family members, and addresses how the core principles of tax law and estate planning are utilized.

For 40 years, scores of business owners, professionals, entrepreneurs, individuals and families with high net worths have looked to Eizen for advice on structuring their estates and assets so as to preserve wealth and minimize tax exposure. He is known as one of Philadelphia's leading estate and asset preservation planning, taxation and business law attorneys and has a national reputation for his outstanding legal work.

A frequent lecturer and author, Eizen has addressed professionals at meetings and seminars across the United States and has written several articles in the fields of taxation and estate planning. He has served as Chair of the Editorial Board of the Pennsylvania CPA Journal, Director of the Greater Philadelphia chapter of the Pennsylvania Institute of CPAs, and Director of the Philadelphia Estate Planning Council. In addition, Eizen has served as President, and has held all other governing offices in the American Association of Attorney-Certified Public Accountants and served as a member of the Association’s Executive Committee through 2006. He has also served as Director to both the Greater Philadelphia Chapter of the Pennsylvania Institute of CPAs and the Philadelphia Estate Planning Council.

Eizen earned his J.D. and L.L.M. in Taxation from Temple University Beasley School of Law and his B.S. in Accounting from Temple University. He is licensed to practice law in New York, Pennsylvania and the District of Columbia.
