Session III (Ethics) 11:20 a.m. to 12:20 p.m. – Cybersecurity for In-House Counsel
As organizations of all sizes have become a prime target of cybercriminals in our information age, this session will address associated legal and ethical considerations for in-house counsel, including (i) legal risks posed by cybersecurity events, (ii) ethical obligations for attorneys to safeguard client information, and (iii) pro-active measures in-house counsel can take to meet obligations and mitigate risk.
Session IV (Ethics) 1:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. – Ethical Issues in Sexual Harassment Cases
Many employers have reported an increase in the number of sexual harassment complaints received since the recent disclosures of sexual harassment claims against many of Hollywood’s elite. This panel will discuss the ethical considerations when dealing with sexual harassment claims, how to properly investigate those claims and deal with the accuser and the accused. The panel will also discuss the ethical implications once litigation ensues.
Session V (C&S) 2:40 p.m. to 3:40 p.m. – Crowdfunding in the U.S. - Its Present and Future
This panel will provide an overview of the Crowdfunding laws and industry in the United States, as well as suggest where we are headed in the future. Panelists will address, among other things, the legal basis for U.S. Crowdfunding, how the market has developed and continues to develop, the kinds of companies that find success with Crowdfunding, the kinds of securities typically offered, the current distribution channels, the broker/dealer platform model, and ways that Crowdfunding has made capital more readily available to America’s entrepreneurs.
