Jeffrey D. Hofferman leads the Litigation Management Section of the Litigation Practice Group and is a member of the Litigation Section of the Intellectual Property Practice Group.
His practice concentrates on the representation of publicly held corporations in the defense of mass tort litigation throughout the United States. He also has extensive experience as trial counsel representing businesses and individuals in a wide variety of commercial and personal matters including injunction cases, RICO claims, contract, real estate, zoning, land use, copyright, trademark, and shareholder and partnership disputes. Mr. Hofferman personally counsels small businesses and individuals. He also has experience with products liability multidistrict litigation including matters involving pharmaceutical injury claims.
Prior to joining Flaster/Greenberg, Mr. Hofferman was an associate and then partner with the Philadelphia firm, Mesirov, Gelman, Jaffe, Cramer and Jamison and Of Counsel to the Philadelphia office of Gollatz, Griffin & Ewing, PC.
Representative Matters
- Design and implement case specific and national strategies in mass tort defense matters throughout the country; Responsible for the development of corporate, fact and expert witnesses utilized in the litigation
- Successful settlements in breach of contract matters involving an internationally renowned fine artist
- Successful settlements defending small businesses against claims of trademark infringement, copyright violation and software piracy
- Obtained a number of favorable arbitration awards for individual investors in broker/dealer securities litigation
- Lead counsel for a business and its principals in a complex, multiparty RICO case currently pending in federal court
- Successfully prosecuted a number of injunction matters including partnership and shareholder lock-out, minority oppression and breach of fiduciary duty claims, First Amendment claims and business broker fee claims
