Flaster/Greenberg’s Abbe Fletman Co-chairing Women’s Heart Health Campaign

Press Release
May 6, 2011
Philadelphia, PA

Abbe Fletman, shareholder at Flaster/Greenberg PC, is co-chairing the 2011 campaign efforts for The American Heart Association’s Go Red For Women crusade in southeastern Pennsylvania. Funds raised from the drive will help support local and national “Go Red” activities, which elevate awareness and promote research, education and community programs that benefit women.

Fletman leads a group of equally involved committee members arranging Philadelphia’s Go Red healthy lunch paired with an educational health expo on Friday, May 20th at the Philadelphia Marriott Downtown from 10:30 a.m. – 1:30 p.m. This luncheon culminates the latest fundraising efforts for this movement and is expected to draw more than 850 attendees, all who share a common interest—spreading the word about this “silent killer” and helping to save lives. Many attendees will put a face on heart disease, sharing stories of their own experiences, or those of family members.

During the main program, Fletman will introduce the 2011 Woman of Heart Honoree, Gale Given, president of Verizon Pennsylvania. “I’m particularly honored to introduce Gale, a tireless advocate for women’s heart health,” Fletman remarked.

Go Red For Women is an exciting initiative to raise awareness, provide education, and distribute prevention and wellness tools against heart disease. I’m involved with this cause because heart disease is the number one killer of all Americans, including women.” The annual luncheon is an opportunity for Philadelphians to band together, as they do each year, in an effort to increase awareness of this disease, and promote a healthier lifestyle. The Health Expo portion will feature a healthy cooking demo, free health screenings, silent auction, take-a-ways and more.
