Quality Mentoring: Open and Honest Conversations with Successful Pairs
The Union League of Philadelphia, 140 S. Broad St., Philadelphia
8 a.m. Registration/Networking/Breakfast
8:30 a.m. -10 a.m. Roundtable
Navigating the rough seas of a legal career can yield a lifetime of rewards when you set sail with a mentor. A mentor must be someone you trust as a confidante in matters of legal and business judgment. A successful mentor-mentee relationship is a joint venture, through which both parties develop and sustain a personal connection. Our panelists will talk about how they located an appropriate mentor, what they learned from each other and how their mentor-mentee relationships evolved in a roundtable discussion led by moderator Abbe Fletman.
Panelists:
- Marilyn Heffley, Chief Litigation Counsel at Sunoco, Inc. and Sophia Lee, Senior Counsel - Litigation at Sunoco, Inc. Sophie was Marilyn's associate at Reed Smith and joined Marilyn when she went in-house to Sunoco.
- Lynda Calderone, shareholder and head of Flaster/Greenberg's Patent Department and Kristyne Bullock, counsel in the firm's IP Practice Group. Lynda brought in Kristyne from Colgate-Palmolive, where she was in-house counsel. They had previously worked together at Akin Gump in Philadelphia.
- Lori Greenawalt, partner in charge of Internal Audit, Risk and Compliance services at KMPG in Philadelphia. When Lori recently felt her life and work were out of whack, she found a mentor to help her put things in balance.
Moderator:
Abbe Fletman, shareholder and head of the Litigation Section of the Intellectual Property Practice Group at Flaster/Greenberg and member of the Commercial Litigation Practice Group
