Flaster/Greenberg History

Initially known as Liebman & Flaster, P.A., the firm began in 1972 when Rick Flaster, a Harvard Law School graduate, left Wall Street's Stroock Stroock & Lavan, to form a two-lawyer tax practice with Emmanuel ("Manny") Liebman. The firm of Liebman & Flaster, P.A. brought sophisticated approaches to legal practices in tax, corporate, commercial, mergers and acquisitions, pension planning, estate planning and healthcare services to South Jersey clients.  Rick Flaster continues as a member of the firm's original Tax and Corporate Practice Group.

In 1976, shareholder Steve Greenberg came on board.  A graduate of Yale Law School, Steve is also a member of the Tax and Corporate Practice Group, representing some of the largest physicians practices in the Delaware Valley.

The firm's growth continued over the next several decades, increasing the number of office locations and attorneys.  In 2002, the Flaster/Greenberg Conference Center opened in Cherry Hill, hosting free legal seminars on topics throughout the year for entrepreneurs, industry groups, non-profit organizations, incubating businesses and clients.  In 2005, the firm expanded its Philadelphia office in Center City to better service clients throughout Pennsylvania.  In 2007, we opened an office in Trenton at the historic American Standard manufacturing plant. Renovated and converted, this unique redevelopment project blends historic elements with contemporary design in an office setting strategically located adjacent to New Jersey Transit’s Hamilton Train Station, providing easy access for clients along the northeast corridor line from Boston to Washington, DC.

Because we value the client-focus and flexibility that thrives at our mid-sized firm, and insist on retaining only the best and brightest attorneys, we do not pretend or want to be a mega-firm.  From our roots in the early 1970's, we are now recognized as one of New Jersey's largest law firms. Our client roster has grown as our legal solutions have helped clients achieve success. Commercial real estate developers, health care providers, technology companies, manufacturers and other businesses and individual clients increasingly seek our counsel.   As the firm continues to expand, we continue to broaden the depth of practice areas and new attorneys to deepen our range of legal services to clients who seek our counsel.
