From our beginnings as a tax-boutique, Flaster/Greenberg has grown over the past three decades to a multi-disciplinary law firm of 75 attorneys providing comprehensive and innovative legal services in six offices in Cherry Hill, Linwood, Trenton and Vineland, New Jersey; Philadelphia, Pennsylvania; and Wilmington, Delaware. Our growth and modern technology enable us to represent diverse business and private clients throughout the region, nation and world. Such clients include public and privately held companies, start-ups, family-owned businesses, governmental entities, nonprofit organizations and individuals.
Flaster/Greenberg began in 1972 when Rick Flaster, a Harvard Law School graduate, left Wall Street's Stroock Stroock & Lavan to form a firm bringing sophisticated approaches to tax, corporate, mergers and acquisitions, and other commercial transactions. Rick Flaster continues as a member of the firm's Tax and Corporate Practice Group. Steve Greenberg, also a member of the Tax and Corporate Practice Group, joined the firm in 1976, with a law degree from Yale. The firm expanded in depth and breadth to include litigation, intellectual property, securities, mergers and acquisitions, real estate and environmental law, as well as financial restructuring. Today, this first generation firm is a full service commercial law firm with a commitment to excellence in legal services and the communities in which we serve.
Our Commercial Real Estate and Land Use Practice Group is staffed by a diversified group of attorneys widely respected throughout New Jersey's real estate community. Attorneys in our Litigation Practice Group handle commercial disputes in courts throughout the country, and in alternative forums such as arbitrations and mediations, arising from, corporate transactions, intellectual property problems, financial fraud, employment issues, bankruptcies, closely held business dissolutions, product liability and medical licensing board representation. Recent litigation successes include defense of a $50 million claim arising from defective financial products, defense of a major trade dress claim, prosecution of a $25 million pension fund dispute arising from a transaction involving two Fortune 100 companies, resolution of sensitive market-timing claims, and litigation of telecommunications access charges.
Many of our attorneys, graduates of some of the nation's most prestigious law schools, practiced at renowned firms in Philadelphia or New York. A unique mid-sized firm, we offer credentials that rival any large firm, handle complex matters traditionally entrusted to much larger firms, and provide the kind of one-on-one service that has become far too uncommon. Client matters are generally staffed with one or two attorneys entirely familiar with the client and able to handle the project efficiently.
At bigger, and sometimes more impersonal firms, larger clients may find that their significant, but non-enterprise threatening, matters are not handled efficiently; and the problems of a sole proprietorship or an individual in need of a financial work-out or other legal services may not get the attention they rightly deserve. The firm culture at Flaster/Greenberg is one of a collegial environment, meaning that often we are able to draw upon our legal inter-disciplinary strength and legal acumen in order to achieve the most advantageous results for our clients. As a firm, we collectively want to be your problem solver.
The advice and representation we provide to individuals or private clients extends to those seeking counsel on matters of separation and divorce as well as adoption. In helping our private clients plan for the future, we use the most sophisticated tools in all aspects of trusts, estate and business planning, as we view ourselves as family business advisors.
